White Rabbit Trail

Set out from our Beverley shop on a short guided walk to find the "White Rabbit" and return to us for a tasty little reward! Have fun and adventure, and see you later...

Setting out on the Trail

First things first, you can download the layout of the White Rabbit Trail here. Print it at home, or pop in to our shop and ask for a free copy!

The numbers along the route highlight small points of interest about Beverley, taking you up to St. Mary's Church, "Home of Beverley's White Rabbit", and back via different streets.
You are aiming to find the 'Pilgrim Rabbit' carving, the fabled inspiration for Lewis Carroll's White Rabbit Character in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and our treasured namesake.

Navigating the Church

On entering the church via the side door, cross over the floor of the church to the opposite side.

Follow the wall down the church towards the main alter.

You will find what you are looking for perched on an arched doorway along the wall.

Maybe take a photo to show us on your return!

The Church Wardens agree to us sending you on this trail. In return, we would kindly ask you to make a small donation to the church for its upkeep (every little helps!). You may like to purchase a souvenir postcard of the 'White Rabbit', as lots of Lewis Carroll fans do when they go to visit.

Returning to us

Now hop along the trail back to us via Ladygate, one of the oldest streets in Beverley, to pick up your tasty little reward!

Should you wish to shop with us, or enjoy our Chocolate Cafe, we offer a 10% discount upon completion of the trail.

We hope to see you soon!
